The Best Farmers Markets in Salt Lake for College Students
Nothing is better than a good farmers market on a sunny warm morning. In Salt Lake there are many Farmers Markets, on campus or off campus, you can find great deals from small businesses, local shops, or independent sellers. Using public transport to get to the markets supports sustainability and allows you free transportation so you have more to spend on vendors. Some things you might see being sold are fresh produce, honey, jams and some artistic work. Vendors show off what makes them unique and create unique experiences for the buyer. Additionally, farmers markets sometimes offer free musical performances by small artists.
It is a community event for all people in town, tourists, students or families to gather together to support each other. If you haven’t been to a farmers market before, make an event of it and meet others, get outside, and maybe look around downtown shops after.

Have an entrepreneurial spirit? Consider getting involved with your own small business! Talk to local hosts and see how you can set up your own booth! Farmers markets are a great way to grow and reach more people through networking and attending smaller events. On-Campus Market
Right here on campus we have our own farmers market every Thursday! From 10 a.m.–2 p.m. we have vendors come to campus and set up for students. You can see a direct list of dates and vendors on the sustainability website.
During this week’s farmers market, I went to visit with a couple of vendors. Jensem is a local peach and plumb harvester. He hand picks all the fruit himself and uses no pesticides on any of his products. He will be at every U of U Farmers Market and is always excited to talk about his families history and how he cares for his fruit. When looking through the market I found, Burningham Bee’s table, along with Moni Ellee Art. This is just a sneak peek of what you can find at the farmers market. Discovering the Spooky Wonders of the Season Market
Come enjoy all things fall and spooky. The Avenue advertises, “Carmel apples, apple cider, hoodies, Halloween decor, pumpkins & so much more!” Who could pass that up! It’s happening Saturday, October 7 from- 12-5p.m. At Vineyard Grove Park—350 North 100 East, Vineyard, UT 84059. Mark your calendars to visit over 140+ vendors and 8 food trucks. It’s definitely an event you don’t want to miss.
