The University of Utah Public Safety department provides security and safety services at the U. The department includes University Police, Campus Security, U Health Security, and Emergency Management.
Police and security officers patrol the campus 24/7/365. To report a non-emergency, call 801-585-2677 (COPS).
Is a messaging service that alerts students about potential weather conditions, safety threats, and other hazards that may occur across campus. You are automatically signed up in the University of Utah Campus Information Systems and must opt out of you do not wish to receive these messages. Learn more about the U Safety Warnings.
The University of Utah has over 150 E-phones on campus. These emergency poles with blue lights on top, are an easy way for students to call for help without having to take their cellphones out of their pockets. The Emergency Boxes are on the exterior of each residence hall.
Part of the campus experience is to engage with your community and to learn to live cooperatively with others. If you have feedback for your roommate, neighbors, or another student at the U, we encourage you to address the individuals directly. If you need support on how to approach a conflict, or if individuals you wish to communicate with are not responsive, please feel welcome to call the front desk to ask that the RA on duty be contacted and requested to help address the situation.
