Welcome! The resources below will get you started on getting connected while on campus. For a full list of all student digital resources please visit University Information Technology.
Campus Help Desk
The Campus Help Desk is staffed from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (MT) Monday-Friday, and 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (MT) Saturday-Sunday.
To quickly find answers to your questions, search the UIT Knowledge Base. If you still need help, call 801-581-4000.
For less urgent issues, you may also email helpdesk@utah.edu. For IT outage information, visit IT Services Status page at uofu.status.io or follow @UofUITStatus on X.
We're aware that some students are using third-party routers, which negatively impacts the Wi-Fi for everyone. UIT is actively improving the Wi-Fi experience. Please report connectivity issues through our Help Desk. This helps us identify areas needing attention and enhance Wi-Fi speed.

University Networks
Wired connections are available in student housing, computer labs, and office areas. Campus also has four wireless networks: UConnect, UGuest, ULink, and eduroam.
- UConnect is a secure connection requiring a valid uNID login. Most users can visit onboard.utah.edu to connect a device.
- UGuest is an unsecured, open-access network for visitors with limited bandwidth.
- ULink is the university’s wireless network for Internet of Things (IoT) devices such as PlayStation, Xbox, Roku, Chromecast, etc.
- Eduroam allows students, faculty, and staff from participating institutions to obtain internet connectivity across campus and when visiting other participating institutions.
Xfinity on Campus (XOC)
Xfinity on Campus (XOC) is a Comcast streaming service for students in Housing & Residential Education (HRE), and other buildings subscribed to University Television (UTV). The UTV-administered service features a lineup of 260+ channels (PDF); thousands of on-demand programs; TV Go, which includes 60+ channels for iOS and Android; and 20 hours of cloud-hosted DVR storage per user.
