In the hustle and bustle of life on the University of Utah campus, students like Angelina Ho, Dalia Perez and Delaney Barclay stand out as shining examples of leadership and involved community members. We had the pleasure of sitting down with these three students to learn more about their involvement with RHA, the U and their recent success at the IACURH Regional Business Conference. 

Angelina: Leadership in the Residence Halls

Angelina Ho, a fourth-year pre-med psychology student from Orem, Utah. Ho is the embodiment of service and leadership within the university’s residence halls. As the President of the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH), Ho has been instrumental in reshaping the organization’s constitution and launching initiatives to recruit and recognize student leaders. Her dedication to fostering a culture of service has earned her recognition both locally and nationally. Ho’s vision for NRHH extends beyond accolades; she envisions a community where every resident feels valued and empowered to make a difference. 

Dalia: Building Bridges Through Communication 

Also from Orem, Utah, Dalia Perez, a fourth-year communications major, has made her mark as the Communications Coordinator for the NRHH's National Communication Committee (NCC). With a passion for leadership and community involvement, Perez has been instrumental in bridging gaps between communities through effective communication strategies. Her role extends beyond mere coordination; it's about facilitating dialogue, sharing ideas, and advocating for positive change. Her dedication to fostering inclusive communication channels serves as a testament to the power of effective dialogue in building stronger, more connected communities.

Delaney: Pioneering New Trails in Student Leadership 

Freshman year can be a daunting experience, but for Delaney Barclay, a business accounting major from Chattanooga, Tennessee, it was an opportunity to dive headfirst into student leadership. Inspired by her desire to make friends and get involved, Barclay seized the chance to join the Sage Points Community Council and eventually took over the role of National Communications Coordinator (NCC) within NRHH. Her trailblazing spirit and commitment to student advocacy have not gone unnoticed, as evidenced by her recent recognition with the Trailblazer Pin—a prestigious award celebrating impactful leadership within the university community.

RHA and Beyond

Beyond individual leadership journeys, the Residence Hall Association (RHA) serves as a vibrant hub for student engagement and advocacy. From advocating for student voices to organizing cultural celebrations and educational events, RHA plays a pivotal role in enriching the residential experience. Through initiatives like town hall meetings, advocacy for commuter services, and targeted event planning, RHA creates spaces where every student's voice is heard and valued.

As Angelina, Dalia, and Delaney exemplify, university life offers a myriad of opportunities for growth, connection, and meaningful experiences.
